Oakley Letters - the Walsh Collection




From 1905 to 1908 Olly Oakley lived at Kimberley Street, Liverpool together
with his future wife Winifred and her family. In 1908 the couple married and
moved to Mossley Hill. It seems more than likely then that this leaflet
dates from between 1905 and 1908. We notice that Oakley's advertised
repertoire features exclusively classical pieces arranged for the banjo.
This contrasts sharply with the typical written-for-banjo compositions which
he was recording during the period in question
